Tonia has always loved art and is passionate about creating things in different forms. After taking every art class offered in grade school and winning several awards, she earned an Associate in Specialized Business with high honors (Alpha Society, President's Award, Dean's List) from Douglas Education Center, a Bachelor of Fine Arts/Minor in General Psychology with honors (Cum Laude, President's Honor Roll), and a Master of Arts in Illustration from Academy of Art University.

Additionally, she's earned multiple Certifications including as a Therapeutic Art Practitioner from Scholistico, and in Women's Outreach, Care, and Coaching from Treasures and Propel Women.

Inspired by the old masters as well as modern artists, she has experience in a variety of areas including traditional and digital painting as well as graphic design for narrative and advertising projects. Artistically, she likes to mix mediums to create her distinctive style and enjoys working with subject matter ranging from figurative to floral and everything in between. Professionally, her artwork can be seen on military bases, book covers/illustrations, business logos, an array of products such as clothing and home goods, and framed in many homes.

She has traveled the world during her service with the U.S. Air Force, authored four published books (pseudonym Talia Kendrix), and currently teaches a Healthy Boundaries for Cycle-Breakers curriculum where she aims to empower, inspire, and encourage others on similar journeys.
